UK Market Entry Panel Selects Windflow
5 November 2010
Windflow Technology is
through to the finals of a prestigious UK MARKET ENTRY (UK-ME) business
competition, an achievement that further endorses the significance and timing
for the Windflow 500 in the UK.
Windflow’s distributor
Ventus Green Energy has received 370 expressions of interest from Scottish
farmers wanting information about the Windflow 500. 29 of these landowners have
paid Ventus Green Energy to apply for the appropriate planning consent to
install a Windflow 500 in Scotland.
Windflow entered the UK
expansion category of the UK-ME competition and judges had to be convinced that
their business case was both plausible and professional. Eligibility to enter
into this category included confirming an intention to have a physical presence
in the UK
within 18 months.
Windflow CEO Geoff
Henderson said, “winning the South Island regional competition and having the
company’s business case for UK scrutinized by business professionals reinforced
the company’s export strategy and focus on UK was right on target.”
“This competition is
about fast tracking for British business success and judges will be well aware
of the magnitude of the opportunity that faces Windflow by virtue of the
feed-in tariffs.”
UK Trade and Investment
support the competition with a range of Gold sponsors including HSBC and NZ
Trade and Enterprise.
Windflow Technology Ltd
has announced this week its plans to raise capital to provide an appropriate
balance sheet and enable the company to take up the business opportunity to
develop exports to the UK
market.
