Start building and selling proven turbines quickly through licensing.

Windflow is actively seeking partnerships with wind turbine manufacturers who are at the forefront of wind energy and interested to license Windflow’s proven power-train technology, either:

  • the synchronous power-train for multi-megawatt or mid-size wind turbines, or
  • the complete Windflow 500 mid-size turbine.

Low Cost of Energy:  Our wind turbines are cost-effective, because they have a world-leading ratio of energy output to turbine weight, and they eliminate the need for power electronics.

Licensing Opportunity for Windflow's patented power-train technology (multi-megawatt or mid-size)

This Licensing Opportunity is available for wind turbine manufacturers of large, multi-megawatt or mid-size wind turbines, 3-bladed turbines or 2-bladers.

Synchronous wind power is proven and cost-effective.  Synchronous generators enhance system security, reliability and resilience.  Physical inertia and large amounts of short-circuit current are two attributes, in terms of which systems with power electronic converters/inverters (PEC) cannot compete with synchronous generators.  So wind power will cost less and be better for grid – why wouldn’t the industry opt for synchronous wind turbines?

Licensing Opportunity for Windflow's patented mid-size turbines (500 kW)

This Licensing Opportunity is available for wind turbine manufacturers of mid-size wind turbines.

The Windflow 500 turbine combines synchronous generation with Windflow's proven 2-bladed rotor with pitch-teeter coupling (PTC) and its advanced teeter control system (TCS).  This is ideal for turbulent, hill-top sites where the light-weight, mid-size turbine facilitates road access and craneage, and the 2-bladed rotor's PTC and TCS handle turbulence with robustness and stability.

Our past projects are testament to our commitment to quality, and to the proven quality of our cost-effective certified wind turbines that have extensive field experience in arduous conditions.  These include our wind farms in high wind sites in New Zealand (Gebbies Pass and Te Rere Hau) and Scotland (Westray, New Holland and Ludenhill in the Orkneys, Monan in the Outer Hebrides, Easter Aberchalder in the highlands above Loch Ness, and Kingseat near Edinburgh).

In fact the Windflow 33-500 is independently certified. Windflow’s 500 kW turbine has been International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) certified by Lloyd's Register (class 1A to IEC 61400-1:2008, Edition 3) and has a track-record of more than 600 turbine-years of synchronous wind power operation. Windflow turbines have accumulated over 600 turbine-years of track record at over 95% availability.  This means low risk to you and your project, and more confidence in financing.

Other Licensing Opportunities
