Senior Management Team

Below is information about Windflow Technology's senior management team: Geoff Henderson, Tom Hooper, John Arimond and many others. Windflow manufacturers commercial sized wind generators. The wind turbines have a 90% New Zealand content and are assemblied in Christchurch.

Geoff Henderson

GEOFF HENDERSON, DIRECTOR AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

A registered mechanical engineer, Geoff has been at the forefront of wind power engineering for over twenty years, including working in California and England. He invented the torque limiting gearbox (TLG) system which has been patented in several countries.  In 1994 he received the Communications Award from the Institution of Professional Engineers (IPENZ) for his contribution to the engineering profession as a proponent of wind power. Geoff is past-chairman of the Canterbury branch of IPENZ and in 2005 was elected a Fellow of IPENZ. Geoff was a finalist for the 2008 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year.

Tom Hooper

TOM HOOPER, CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Tom was educated at the University of Canterbury and has spent 12 years in the UK developing and implementing business plans that led to companies under his direction being placed in the Top 100 Fastest growing companies in the UK for three years running, (2005, 2006, 2007). Tom is responsible for managing Windflow’s growth from a development based company to a full commercial sales and production operation.

John Arimond

JOHN ARIMOND, ENGINEERING MANAGER

John is a graduate of Harvard (Applied Mechanics) and M.I.T. (Mechanical Engineering). At Windflow, John leads the engineering work required for IEC certification, new product R&D, current product and value engineering, and automation systems engineering. John joined Windflow after 21 years with Rogers Corporation, a US manufacturer of engineered composite materials. At Rogers, John was responsible for designing and building new manufacturing lines, upgrading and modernizing older machinery, and overseeing automation systems engineering throughout the company’s factories.

Warwick Payne

WARWICK PAYNE, WIND FARM DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Warwick has a BE in Mechanical Engineering, and started with Windflow as a mechanical engineer after working for a consulting company in a mechanical design role as well as performing computer based stress analysis. He has designed many of the turbines components and was also heavily involved in the prototype building and testing at Gebbies Pass. Warwick has since moved into his current role as Wind Farm Development Manager, where he is managing the team that takes wind farm development projects from inception to completion through planning, construction and, once installed operation and maintenance.

Jules Ganley

JULES GANLEY, PRODUCTION MANAGER

Jules joined Windflow with a broad range of experience in production management in the apparel, publishing, telecom and electronics industries. Before joining Windflow he was Production Manager for an electronics company, controlling production in Christchurch and Shanghai and has experience in managing global logistics and procurement. Jules has a B. Tech (Manufacturing and Industrial) and has travelled extensively. As Production Manager, Jules is responsible for managing the processes and teams involved in turbine component procurement and turbine production, and managing the company’s transition from prototype to quantity production.

Tim Armitage

TIM ARMITAGE, QUALITY AND TRAINING MANAGER

A Chartered Professional Engineer and a Member of IPENZ, Tim has international experience in infrastructure management, organisational development and quality assurance. Tim designed a quality management system for Windflow in order to meet ISO 9001: 2000 (obtained in June 2008) and a product certification system for the Windflow 500 to meet IEC WT 01: 2001. Tim has also functioned as interim COO for Windflow until Tom Hooper began in 2008.

Peter Chadwick

PETER CHADWICK - WIND FARM OPERATIONS MANAGER

Peter is responsible for the ongoing operation and maintenance of Windflow turbines as well as the creation and documentation of the processes and structures required to support this. Previously he spent 17 years at General Cable where he worked in a variety of roles from Project Manager, Production Manager and most recently Engineering Manager.

Sheralee MacDonald

SHERALEE MACDONALD, MARKETING MANAGER

Sheralee has a Marketing degree from Massey University and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Resource Studies at Lincoln University. Sheralee is responsible for managing sales and marketing activities. She previously worked in the energy and environmental technology sectors (EECA and Canadian Environmental Technology Advancement Corporation (CETAC-WEST).

Martin Richardson

MARTIN RICHARDSON, ACCOUNTANT

Martin graduated in Accounting from the University of South Africa, after which he served his Articles with Peat Marwick and Mitchell Chartered Accountants (now KPMG). Martin has been in New Zealand since 2004, where he had been doing contract accounting work until he joined Windflow.

 

Terry Moon

TERRY MOON, COMPANY SECRETARY

 Terry has a background in the banking sector in Lending and Customer Services, working for the Post Office Savings Bank and the ANZ. She has a Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology and a Graduate Certificate in E-Commerce from Christchurch Polytechnic.  As Company Secretary Terry is responsible for working with the Board of Directors to ensure that Windflow meets its statutory reporting obligations to shareholders and the market.
