Windflow Technology Ltd assembles windmills in its factory in Riccarton, Christchurch, New Zealand. Windflow owns the wind blade manufacturer subsidary Wind Blades Ltd and has a joint venture with the wind turbine gearbox manufacturer AH Gears, called Wind Gears Ltd.
Company structure
Windflow assembles nacelles in its factory in Christchurch. The components are supplied from all over New Zealand, in fact 90% of the components are kiwi-made. The tower and the blades are transported directly to the wind farm site where they meet up with the nacelles. Approximately 50 staff are working in the factory and office in Christchurch and on wind farm sites.
Windflow owns the subsidiary,
Wind Blades Ltd,
based in Auckland, New Zealand. Wind Blades manufacture tooling and
supply volume production for the Windflow 500 rotor blades, and a wide
range of composite products for other customers. Approximately 10 staff work at Wind Blades.
Windflow has
also formed a Joint Venture with
AH Gears,
the Auckland based manufacturer of the patented Windflow 500 torque
limiting gearbox. The joint venture entity
is named Wind Gears Ltd.
Windflow Technology Ltd also has an equity stake in two wind farm developer/generator companies:
NZ Windfarms Ltd the
developer of the consented 48.5 MW Te Rere Hau wind farm near
Palmerston North (97 Windflow 500 turbines).- WindPower Otago Ltd based in the lower South Island of New Zealand.
